My daughter's friend, Joshua, is moving to the UK on Friday. Tonight is his "farewell party". They're going for pizza.
My daughter wanted to make him a goodbye card, but didn't know what to do.
We decided that she should try her hand at digi stamping and colouring.
We went through the different digi's but there was nothing really for a 12 year old boy going away.
Then I remembered one of my future digi's (future, as it still needs some work before being added to the store). A sailor boy. Perfect and appropriated.
So she coloured him in blue and white, and used blue papers to decorate the card.
She went through her "stash" and found some stickers for the sentiment "good by Josh". Ok, "bye" is missing the "e", but I only saw that once it was already in the envelope, so I left it.
The poem inside says:
"Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I'll miss you
Until we meet again! ~Author Unknown".
She wrote her email address in the card so they can continue to correspond.
Here's here first attempt, she's already busy on another, but not finished yet.
What a cute card - and that little salutin' sailor boy is so appropriate! Talented daughter - just like MOM! :)
ReplyDeleteWell done!
How lovely. I say, catch them when they are young and they will be crafters forever. Workrd for my mon, worked for me and my daughters and seems to be working on my grandchildren too!
