Another Funky Kate, but this time in Pink & Purple
I enjoyed making the other card, so decided to try another in completely different colours. It's amazing how different they are, even though I used the same image (Funky Kate from Digistamps 4 Joy) and similar layout. I decided to use a lot of layering with this card and the 2 coloured background papers are both matted on a dark purple mat. I used a piece of white lace and
I used just 2 white flowers and 1 leaf and stuck pink flat-backed pearls in the centre of the flowers. I "twirled" the stem of the leaf and pulled it to the side. I then stuck 3 purple and 3 pink pearls on the card to finish it off.
Thanks for looking

Funky Kate for Caitlin
It's my niece's 13th birthday this coming weekend.
So I decided to make a typical teen card for her. I wanted it to have a little bit of a gothic look, while still very feminine. I'm happy with the result.
I used Funky Kate from Digstamps 4 Joy, and coloured the image with watercolour pencils and white spirits.
I've used a black cardboard cut-out border along the side, and put grey flat-backed pearls along the border. I used a black scalloped oval cardboard cut-out behind the image and also used grey pearls in each scallop. I tied a pretty ribbon to also form part of the border.
I used a large red rose and 2 leaves at the bottom of the oval scallop cut-out and used the numbers 1 and 3 to create 13 from gel stickers.
I found a fantastic poem - so suitable for a new teen and printed that for the inside. I used a fancy border punch on the corners and stuck the poem inside the card.
I hope she likes it, but I'm sure she will.
Thanks for visiting.

A very busy digi weekend
Some Odd Girl had a Digi Day on SNR cardiverse.
Every hour they post another challenge. What's fun about it is you get points for participating. And if you use their images, you earn extra points. The winner of each challenge (chosen randomly) gets even more points.
I earned 11 points (basically putting me in second place). I participated in 4 of the 5 challenges.
It's a fun day of play (although I should've been working hee hee).
Challenge 1: Rainbow colours - use the colours of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. Done.
Challenge 2: Make a shaped card and use a tag, button(s) and bow(s). Done... (this is the challenge is "won" by random draw)
Challenge 3: Use 2 (or more) bows (not ribbons, but tied bows) on your project. Done.
Challenge 4: Choose 5 elements from the list given on your project. My 5 items were: orange, lace, ribbon, green (and diecut), and inked edges. Done.
All in all a fun day, earning me a total of 11 extra points (I already have 6... 1 more and I get a free digi from their store).

I joined up to Crafters Digital Art Centre (CDAC) quite recently. I've found it to be a very informative and active site. The participation in the groups is wonderful.
They are having an awesome give-away. It's this nifty Genuis MousePen 8" x 6" Graphic Tablet.
The features are fantastic. I certainly wouldn't mind winning this prize!!

Another "recruit"
My daughter's friend, Joshua, is moving to the UK on Friday. Tonight is his "farewell party". They're going for pizza.
My daughter wanted to make him a goodbye card, but didn't know what to do.
We decided that she should try her hand at digi stamping and colouring.
We went through the different digi's but there was nothing really for a 12 year old boy going away.
Then I remembered one of my future digi's (future, as it still needs some work before being added to the store). A sailor boy. Perfect and appropriated.
So she coloured him in blue and white, and used blue papers to decorate the card.
She went through her "stash" and found some stickers for the sentiment "good by Josh". Ok, "bye" is missing the "e", but I only saw that once it was already in the envelope, so I left it.
The poem inside says:
"Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I'll miss you
Until we meet again! ~Author Unknown".
She wrote her email address in the card so they can continue to correspond.
Here's here first attempt, she's already busy on another, but not finished yet.

Colouring up a storm
I've been so busy over the past 2 weeks... Busy getting Digistamps 4 Joy, an online digital stamp store, up and running. We started with around 20 images, and we're close to 50 now - and adding new ones all the time.
It's been a very exciting time, and I'm enjoying every moment of it.
I took a break last weekend to celebrate my son's 6th birthday. I can't believe the pace my children grow up in front of my eyes. I looked at my daughter just yesterday - she's 12 now, still so childlike, but oh, so grown up! My darlings.
All I have to share for now is the colouring of the images I've done. No time as yet to make them into cards, but soon.....
